
Synopsis of the TABC Meeting
January 11, 2009
Cabela’s, Buda TX
The meeting was called to order at 1: 08 p.m. by Ed Calderone, President. The President gave his opening comments regarding past board members, present and new board members attendance to our meetings. He stressed how imperative it is to be at our meetings. He introduced our new Treasurer: Glenda Summers.
The secretary’s minutes were read, treasurer’s report was given, and club membership report was given.
New business: Election of Officers: Randi Wayland made a motion by acclamation that the Officers of TABC remain the same. Doug Black 2nd the motion. There was no opposition.
Trailer and Live Release Tanks were discussed.
Ed Parton gave an in depth speech on legislation that was passed recently on the sale of Black Bass. They are now legal to buy from fish markets and restaurants. They do have to have certification that they were farmed raised. On February 3, 2009, Ed Parton and Randi Wayland will be meeting with our legislatures to try and convince them to amend or abolish this new bill.
Old Business: The first Shoot-out Tournament dates: Registration is on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday morning, February 28, 2009 from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Registration and Tournament site is at Beacon Lodge. Launch will be at safe light and 1st flight will weigh-in at 3:00 p.m. Second Shoot-out Tournament is tentatively on Sam Rayburn. Registration is on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 4:00 a.m. to 5:15 a.m. Launch will be at safe light and fish until time not disclosed yet.
Other Business: Cabela’s has offered TABC to have a booth on February 14th and 15th in their store in Buda.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Our next meeting will be at the Shoot-out Tournament on February 27, 2009 around 5:30p.m. or 6:00 p.m. at Beacon Lodge, Falcon Lake.
