TABC Board Meeting
August 14, 2011
Bastrop Inn, Bastrop TX
Members/Guests: Doug Black, Ed Calderone, Robert Rose, Bill Ramsey, Nate Cutbirth (Houston Bass Wranglers), Caleb Ramsey,
Andrew Y’Barbo.
Ed Calderone, President, called the meeting to order at approximately 7: 00 p.m. Guest introductions were done.
Debbie Black differed the minutes of the June meeting until the next meeting.
Debbie Black gave the Treasurer’s Report for Glenda Summers. We have 26 clubs in our association this year. Our balance is
approximately $11,664.00. Bill Ramsey motioned we accept the Treasurer’s Report and Doug Black seconded the motion.
New Business: D&O and Liability Insurance coming due. We will be using the same company we have in the past years. It was
agreed to pay the bill when it comes in. Debbie and Glenda will take care of this.
Old Business: State Championship- We went over all the tournament details and assignments. Registration & Captain’s Meeting will
be held at Falcon Lake Tackle. Registration is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Captain’s Meeting will be promptly at 7:30 p.m. Weigh Masters:
Dave Cole & Robert Rose. The rules and regulations have been distributed on the website. The Mexican side is not off limits and
TABC reserves the right to change that decision up until the Captain’s Meeting. Weigh in times have been set. We will be launching
and weighing in at the County Boat Ramp. Saturday weigh in times are: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30. Sunday is 1:00, 1:15, 1:30. Debbie Black
is working on getting ice, setting up the polygraph testing, goody bags and t-shirts. We had at least 3 donations from businesses for
our tournament. Texas Trophies is preparing the plaques for the tournament. There will be plaques for first thru eighth place as well
as big bass for Saturday and Sunday. Ralph Looney will be overseeing our raffle for our participants. It was decided this year to do
gift cards from Academy, Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops in all different increments totaling up to $600. We will need to purchase the
items from Minnkota this year. Doug Black will contact Kimber @ Johnson Outdoors and see if we can purchase gift cards to hand
out to the winners and they can use that on a purchase from her. Randi Wayland wanted a 3 fish limit addressed at this meeting in
regards to the State Tournament. Debbie Black expressed Randi’s concerns to the members present. It was discussed and decided
that we would keep our 5 fish limit due to it is a limit for the boat, not the individual.
Scholarship Program- We have scholarships that were submitted by Ray Osborne (SAPD), Michael Carter (Bass Busters of Houston),
Melissa Ashworth (Bass Busters of Houston), Joshua Garrett (Lifetime Member). We have 4 scholarship awarded to these
individuals. We had a fifth submission by Hunter Miller.
There was much discussion on our youth division and its low participation this year. We discussed the YFL and Jim Brockman, but
after much discussion we agreed that we would not pursue meeting with Mr. Brockman. The member’s present discussed lakes to
hold the youth tournaments next year. Lakes discussed: Rayburn, Givens, Conroe, Somerville, Coleto Creek and Livingston.
Championships to be held in regions of participation ie; Rayburn, Choke Canyon. This next year will determine on the youth
program continuing. If we do not have any more participation we will have to rethink our program. We did discuss amending our
rules for 2012. 1) Adult can fish for fun and weigh in a big fish if they like but it cannot count towards the youth’s total weight. 2)
Let the younger division go out in boats if they choose to and let them come in if they need to and go back out. 3) Increase age limit
to 19 for Division III.
TABC Raffle for 2011 Report by Debbie Black: 3350 Tickets have been sent out. Only 5 clubs are participating in this raffle.
Directors Reports: Not much going on right now. Robert Rose will contact Jake Jackubosky in regards to taking water/Gatorade to
LBJ event they are having there.
Website Report: Debbie going to try and set up face book page for TABC to promote youth and our organization in general.

Bill Ramsey motioned to adjourn the meeting and Doug Black seconded the motion.
